Fellow classic car enthusiast and vintage-modern designer Roberta Oaks and I got together to collaborate on the ultimate nod to our favorite Hawaiian era, the aloha shirt. We've collaborated on two limited-run aloha shirt patterns made with aloha right here in Hawaii.
This Hawaiian-inspired footwear company makes some rad shoes and slippahs that feel like you're walking in wet sand all day long. I had the pleasure of designing some artwork for their new spring collection of sandals, inspired by a Hawaiian favorite: good ol' fashioned shave ice. The goal was to capture the fun, colorful, and playful feeling of ordering a shave ice in Hawaii.
Ward Village puts out a quarterly lifestyle publication called the Forward Journal. For their most recent edition, I was interviewed about my life on island, my inspiration, and what I have in mind for the future. But they also asked me to create some illustrations for the cover and a few interior pages.
Built on land that was once the estate of Hawaii's last and most beloved princess, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is a garden oasis in the heart of Waikiki. When they wanted to rebrand their pool bar, they came to me to create a fresh look. One that was inspired by the Polynesian Tiki roots that have plenty of history in Waikiki.
