OluKai 'Discover Your Flavor' Campaign

With the sun finally bursting through the clouds here in Hawaii, it feels like a good time to talk spring and summer! If you've lived or visited the islands in the last decade, you've probably heard of Olukai. This Hawaiian-inspired footwear company makes some rad shoes and slippahs that feel like you're walking in wet sand all day long. I had the pleasure of designing some vintage Hawaii art for their new spring collection of sandals, inspired by a local favorite: good ol' fashioned shave ice. The goal was to capture the fun, colorful, and playful feeling of ordering a shave ice in Hawaii.

If you've ever stopped at Anahulu's for post-surf refreshment or sought out Wishing Well in the gloriously vintage Hanalei or snapped a pic at Matsumotos, you know what we're talking about. Used in the catalog, online, and on point of purchase displays in-store worldwide, the three different designs pull from the range of shave ice flavors from tart to sweet to refreshing.
