Duke Kahanamoku Foundation
In 1957, Duke Kahanamoku was featured on “This is Your Life,” a show where guests were surprised by the host with visits from friends and colleagues, and a retrospective of their lives. It’s a fantastic episode that truly shows Duke’s embodiment of aloha. As the father of modern surfing, an Olympic swimmer, and an all-around waterman, Duke’s legacy is profound. I am humbled to have the opportunity to create an art piece in his honor. Lately, I’ve been enjoying the challenge of designing complex pieces that appear simple, and for Duke, I wanted to visually explore his wide range of skills and achievements. This print is available exclusively through Greenroom Gallery, with a portion of sales benefiting the Duke Kahanamoku Foundation.
